TELUS Mobility is a Canadian wireless telecommunications provider offering wireless voice, data and internet services to businesses and consumer clients. Applied Electronics designed, supplied and installed a 2x6 array monitor wall into TELUS Mobility’s Network Control Centre located in Markham, ON. Applied Electronics’ custom-designed frame structure in which 12 Christie Digital 60” (diagonal) CX60 rear projection cubes are situated, allots space underneath the display wall for the control centre’s CPU’s which are remotely accessed by operators at each workstation via TELUS’ secure wireless network. The monitor wall is accented with a Sharp 46” (diagonal) LCD panel display on each side that are mounted by Applied Electronics custom-made fixtures. The entire wall composite includes a rear screen projector room, closet for storage and additional storage compartments.

The adjacent boardroom, with a frosted glass wall that becomes transparent with the flick of a switch, acts as a multi-application space for audio/video conferencing, corporate meetings and presentations, and doubles as a “war room” with surveillance and interface capability with the control room operations when in a crisis scenario. The boardroom’s projection system includes a Draper electronic drop-down screen, Mitsubishi XL5950U LCD projector and an Applied Electronics custom-designed projector enclosure in the ceiling. The A/V system is automated by a Crestron CP2E economical dual bus control system and a TPS-2000L 3.5” (diagonal) screen wall-mounted touchpanel as well as an STX-1700C SmarTouch 5.7” (diagonal) screen 2-way wirleless handheld LCD touchpanel.
