Based in Calgary, Pembina Pipeline is one of the largest and most diversified energy infrastructure companies in Canada.  To facilitate their strategic plan for growth and collaboration, Pembina engaged Applied Electronics’ audio visual systems design and integration services to build out all of the meeting and collaboration spaces across the 12 floors of their corporate head office, including a large multi-purpose conference centre.

Over the course of a year, Applied Electronics equipped 37 meeting rooms, six 12- to 32-seat boardrooms, two training rooms, a trading floor, a social space, multiple cafeterias, and a conference centre, which could be converted into four separate conference spaces to accommodate corporate events of any size, with full audio visual systems. Meeting rooms were suited up with either 60” Sharp LCD monitors or 50x80-inch Da-Lite electronic front projection screens with Panasonic ultra-wide throw projectors; and Barco ClickShare wireless presentation and collaboration systems to provide media source connectivity. For meetings that require the participation of remote team members, Pembina’s video conferencing meeting rooms, along with some of the executive boardrooms, are integrated with Cisco video conferencing systems and Cisco pan-tilt-zoom cameras, Tannoy ceiling flush mounted speakers, Clockaudio hypercardiod table mics with push to talk capability, Crestron DigitalMedia presentation system with acoustic echo cancellation, and Crestron FusionRV remote asset management software was deployed along with Crestron TPMC-4SM touch panels with room scheduling capability.

One of the two Pembina training rooms are equipped with two 65” LCD monitors, a 70” SMART interactive white board, ceiling mics, flush mounted ceiling speakers, Crestron control system with touch panels; while the other features a 50x-80 Dalite front projection screen with Panasonic ultra-wide throw projector instead of LCD monitors. The Trading Floor, Social Space and multiple Cafes feature LED TVs ranging in size from 19-inch to 55-inch, as well as Crestron control systems with touch panels.

The Conference Centre, located on the 40th floor, can be combined or divided into four separate conference spaces and boasts 65x104-inch Da-Lite recessed projection screens with LVC, Christie laser phosphor projectors, ClearOne ceiling mics, Crestron DigitalMedia, Crestron FusionRV, and Crestron control system with touch panels. The conference centre and the executive boardrooms on the 40th floor are all part of a single networked AVB (audio video bridging) audio system, which incorporates Biamp Tesira digital signal processors for all audio management and teleconferencing in the office.
