In 2002, Applied Electronics was contracted as the audio visual designer, supplier and integrator for the TMX Broadcast Centre Display wall, Gallery, and Broadcast Studio. The Broadcast Centre Display Wall is used every business day by senior financial journalists from Canadian business media to interview leading figures in the world of finance. The Broadcast Centre Display wall is seen on many Canadian and international networks including Business News Network ,CNBC, FOX, SUN News Network and CityNews Channel and provides up-to-date information on the market at a glance. .The Gallery space is used for a variety of events including product launches, annual meetings, news conferences and seminars. Installed in the Gallery, Applied Electronics integrated 6 LCD monitors and two large 8 foot rear projection presentation screens along with a complete audio, video and control system.
In 2011, the TMX approached Applied Electronics to supply an upgraded display system which featured little to no maintenance cost for 5 to 7 years while providing the reliability and colour saturation they and their viewing audience are accustomed to. Applied Electronics replaced the existing Xenon based projection engines with 14 Christie Digital RPMSPLED01 LED rear screen tiling projectors. These LED light source based engines are designed for extended use applications, and provide significantly reduced operational cost and improved overall image quality and operational performance.
