Applied Electronics Integrates Digital Signage Network into CHU Sainte-Justine Mother and Child University Hospital Centre
The Centre hospitalier universitaire Sainte-Justine is a pediatric and obstetric university health centre affiliated with the Université de Montréal, located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The ‘Growing Up Healthy’ modernization project aims to provide CHU Sainte-Justine with the facilities required to meet the needs and expectations of mothers and children, in line with every component of its mission.
As part of this modernization project, which entails the construction of new buildings and the subsequent rehabilitation of existing ones, CHU Sainte-Justine contracted Applied Electronics to supply and install an integrated digital signage & IP video solution throughout the hospital to communicate pertinent information to healthcare staff, patients and visitors.
The Haivision CoolSign digital signage network system provides a simple approach to managing and distributing digital signage with fully integrated live IP video content. The hospital signage network can incorporate live broadcast content with dynamic digital signage with a simple, reliable and scalable system. CoolSign combines powerful and field-proven administrative tools for control, automation, and data integration with a simple, device independent content management approach for content contributors. CoolSign makes planning, scheduling, distributing and monitoring media content across the hospital network a simple and repeatable process. Content can also be managed and controlled from an array of devices, from desktops to mobile devices to tablets.
In addition, Applied Electronics provided operator training and a maintenance and technical support agreement for the digital signage system.
CHU Sainte-Justine is the largest mother-child centre in Canada and the second largest pediatric hospital in North America, and it opened its doors to the public on November 7, 2016.
