In late 2016, Applied Electronics upgraded the Institute’s digital signage system to help promote cardiovascular health and education.
The Haivision Makito X enterprise video solution is ideal for live, interactive and headend applications. The Makito X encoder, H.264 DVI encoding appliance in a 4RU (21 blades) chassis, transports secure, low latency, HD video over any network at extremely low bitrates. The Makito X decoder delivers dual channel HD digital video to 3G-SDI and HDMI interfaces, supporting all HD standards up to 1080p60. The Makito X decoder is a unique match for the Makito X encoder, yielding H.264 1080p60 with an extremely low end-to-end latency.
The new digital signage system is complemented by an upgraded audio system, which boasts Tannoy in-ceiling speakers and Shure portable 4-channel microphone mixer with six transformers to provide protection from RF interference and exceptionally quiet performance.
