Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM)
AN URBAN UNIVERSITY IN THE HEART OF FRENCH NORTH AMERICA.
Located in the heart of Montréal, Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) is a public, French language university with a campus in a neighbourhood reminiscent of European charm. Supplied by Applied Electronics, UQAM recently finalized their HD production upgrade with the addition of Ross Video Vision Series 2 ME digital production switcher into their Suite A to streamline production and provide tight, integrated control. A Ross Video Carbonite Series production switcher was incorporated into Suite B to provide unprecedented production power. UQAM also acquired a Ross Video CrossOver Solo production switcher for their flight pack, which enables the creation of professional grade broadcasts in a compact package.
Also part of UQAM’s system is a Ross Video XPression 3D CG and Motion Graphics System with single channel XPression Prime which includes 10 Xpression Designer licenses & the Xpression Virtual Set software. The UQAM central routing is done through a Ross Video NK-3G72(32) 72x72 mid-sized modular and expandable NK Series routing system. Audio and video distribution is done through Ross gear as well. In addition, a Miranda Kaleido-X multi-viewer was integrated into both studio suites offering the highest picture quality along with unmatched flexibility in display configuration and exceptional resilience.
Finally, UQAM purchased 4 Vinten Osprey Elite pedestals and 3 Vinten Light Osprey pedestals which are designed for the growing number of
small studios that require the quality of on shot movement. The Osprey Elite is extremely versatile, designed to support the latest range of digital, portable and full facility cameras for both studio and OB productions. These new systems will permit UQAM students enrolled in Journalism and Theatre to have hands-on experience with production equipment.
