CTV Calgary News Unveils its New Video Wall

CTV CFCN Calgary Video Wall1.jpg

CTV Calgary gave its viewers a nice surprise on September 23rd. A 9-display video wall was installed in the CFCN news studio over the previous weekend and now centers the studio set, providing a vibrant, dynamic backdrop to the anchor desk.

The CFCN control room can feed any video source to the wall, including news footage as shown and shots from their news vehicles or beauty cameras around the city. The 3x3 monitor wall utilizes Panasonic 55” LCD displays with ultra-thin bezels.

Working from a concept by Dale Coutts of the CTV Engineering team, the Applied Electronics Audio Visual Systems Division designed and built the custom aluminum frame at our Mississauga facility and shipped it to Calgary for instudio assembly. The LCD displays are mounted on adjustable Chief mounts, which are designed to allow an inside unit to be removed, if necessary, without disassembling the entire wall.
